Birth control/antibiotics/pcos?!

Question: sooo i have PCOS and take birth control and i was on some pill for a bladder infection and my period started while still on my birthcontrol i figured the pill stopped my BC from working so i just stopped taking my birthcontrol to let my period come now its WAY heavier then it has ever been and is lasting longer then normal. it was kinda light while on my pills for my bladder infection but when i stopped taking them it was like HELLOOOOOOO ive never bled this bad. was it a bad idea to stop taking my BC while on that other med?? ive been having the worst cramps EVER and bleeding and oh man its horrible i just want to cry what should i do? do i have to just wait it out is it okay to start my birthcontrol not having ended my period yet? its been 7 days and if i do will that stop it?

You need to be on birth control. You need those steady hormones to regulate your cycles. When you go off a pill you'll have breakthrough bleeding and your cycle will get messed up. If you miss multiples it may result in heavier periods, blood clots, and break through bleeding as well.

You need to KEEP taking BCP's, the reason you're bleeding so heavily is because you messed up your cycle and your body didn't get that stream of hormones that keeps you from having heavy periods.

As soon as this period ends start taking your BCP regularly and DO NOT MISS A PILL.

Call your OB/GYN and discuss with him/her.

U should have never stopped taking ur bc. That was a bad idea. I would call the doc who put u on bc and discuss it with them. Try to get an appointment, and if u don't have time call and tell the nurse its an emerency and they will have the doc call u ASAP.
Please call ur doc.
