(girls only please)!!! Question!?!

Question: I'm 13 and I got my period today in school (it didn't make a huge stain on my jeans or anything)! I am so thankful for that. But I came home and saw it and panicked, then I stopped panicking. So, I'm wondering how to tell my mom about it. And how do I avoid people seeing the pad in my underwear when we change for gym. Please answer both of these!

Your mom is familiar with the period and will be expecting you to get it sometime soon. I'm suprised she hasn't talked to you already, but in any case, just tell her. It'll be alright.

More than likely people might see the pad when you change for gym, but you are changing in front of girls, who should generally be familiar as well and won't think anything of it. You can keep your back to the lockers and not bend over right in front of them if you're self-conscious, but they make pads that aren't that big.

for the gym thing, use the bathroom and make up an excuse, its not that big of a deal anyway, everyone gets it. ive been through that, or get used to wearing tampons. oh and congrats!

First, just go to your mom and say, "Mom, I started my period." I'm sure it'll end up being a much easier conversation than you're expecting. Second, no one will be staring at your underwear in gym. At your age, a lot of girls are getting or already have their periods. Just wear your pad and don't worry about it. Good luck and welcome to womanhood!

Just come out to your mum and tell her. It was hard for me first but just tell her. Maybe your mum can also help you with your second question...they are good at stuff like that.

:-) Hope I helped.

Your mom will be your biggest support, don't hesitate to tell her!

Try a thin pad if your flow allows.

Welcome to women-hood.

=)

your just going to have to tell your mom, there's no best way to do this. As far as changing goes...I'm sure you aren't the only one in gym to have on a pad, if it bothers you that much try changing in the bathroom or try using tampons when you feel you are ready.

just say mom i got my period today. and do you have bathrooms in your locker room if you do then just change in them so nobody will see. that is what i did it what most girls do when on there period inless you start to wear tampons. well congrat you are a women.

Well there really isnt any other way to say it just say..mom today i got my period. Seh will understand how you feel.
good luck :)

you're lucky that it didnt stain!but anyways you just have to go straight to your mom and tell her, there's not really a way of getting around it.she should probably be expecting you to be getting your period around this time so it probably wont surprise her.but i was shaking when i had to tell my mom but now i have had mine for a year.but the thing with gym, there's not much you can do.i mean everybody has it or is gonna have it so there's no reason to laugh or make fun,but if possible get a friend to stand near you and block you from sight or aim your back to the wall b/c its really only visible from the back.hope this helped! good luck! :]

for gym, pads you can not even see.just make sure they see under down thurrr. And lots of 13 year old girls have it too, like me!To start a convo with your mother just bring it up its not really embarrassing at all.you probably wont even have to tell her,i didnt

1. Just say, "Mom, I got my period today". Simplest is always best, and she'll probably be excited on your behalf. My mom got a little sniffly that I was growing up and took me out to lunch.

2. When you change for gym, have you ever observed another girl's pad in her underwear? Probably not, right? And yet logic suggests that at any given time at least some of them are wearing one. But because of simple manners, you don't stare at their crotches, and thus don't notice... or if you do catch a glimpse, you don't spend a lot of time thinking about it because it's just part of life. Assume that they will apply the same courtesy to you, and don't stress... pads aren't that visible.

Your mom is expecting this. Just say "mom,.I got my period today".

She can and wants to help you.

Wear a thin pad, and normal underwear in a color or print that you can't see through.

Don't worry about it. No one is really looking at that area, and other girls have them, too.
