What is the general average weight for over 5'6 female eighteen year olds?!

Question: The average weight for women may be 150, but the average height for a woman is 5'4". The general guidelines suggest that at 5'6', you should weigh 130. However, this doesn't take into account your body fat % which an important measure of how you will look. Two people of the same height and weight might wear entirely (like an 8 versus a 4; I've done both at that weight and height) because they differ in body fat.

Another measure of weight "appropriateness" is the BMI (body mass index). Here's a link:

Some people dislike the BMI charts, because they don't take into account body fat. So, an athlete (like a sprinter) may be overweight (or perhaps even obese) according to the chart, although she may be much healthier than someone who is in the normal range, but has a body fat percentage of 32%.

You can get your body fat tested using calipers, some scales you can purchase, or some water displacement test.

The average weight for adult women 18 and older in America is about 150 lbs. Average, but maybe not very healthy.

My sister is 19 and she's 5'5 and she weighs 118.
