I used to have insomnia really bad when I was much younger. My brain was just so active with ideas and creativity that I had trouble sleeping. It helped for me to play some peaceful music which was soothing and not too exciting, which would help lull me to sleep. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, and classical music, were my favorites for this. It also helped me to read something that was rather boring, such as a part of the newspaper I was not really interested in.

Having a drink or two may help. Nowdays I have either a glass of red wine, or a cup of warm tea (or both) and it helps me relax before bed. There are plenty of over the counter medicines you could buy, but they arent really good for you (they're bad for your kidneys and liver). If you are interested in prescription medications, two really good ones for sleeplessness are called Ambien, and Lunesta. You should see your doctor if you think your problem is persistent enough that you need medicine.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

tequilla or maybe some pills

a glass of wine or 2

Read a book, play video games, watch tv, go on YouTube, day dream, exercise, or just stay up.

You will fall asleep sooner or later if you try anything from above ;-)

Making love puts me to sleep faster than a sleeping pill.

melatonin. $6 at Walmart in suppliment section.

warm milk sometimes helps.
hot baths help.
keeping a regular sleeping schedule helps. sometimes you just need to train your body to sleep if you've been messing around with your normal sleeping schedule.

well i think its better to have no sleep than no awake.....

i also have this problem i noticed when i drink a cup of milk or have a small cup of soup or cereal before i go to bed i fall asleep a lot faster

Learn to reduce or manage the stress in your life. Try eating a light snack before going to bed, but don't eat too much right before bedtime. A glass of warm milk or some cheese and crackers may be all you need. Exercise more often, but don't exercise within a few hours before going to bed. Hope these tips would helps. Good luck.
