You shouldn't ovulate. Occasionally the pill will not completely suppress ovulation... which is why some unfortunate women who take it correctly still get pregnant. Nothing's foolproof.

However, the fact that you've got EWCM (eggwhite cervical mucous) does not necessarily indicate that you've ovulated. You'll still have cervical mucus changes while on the pill, including the ones that would indicate ovulation if you weren't on a hormonally modified cycle. That's quite normal. If you're concerned, you can look into a heavier-dose pill, but I'd suspect you're fine.

yes you ovulate on birth control, you just don't have enough endometrium ( uterine lining) for an egg to implant in your uterus. the pill does not allow the lining tissue to build up enough to get pregnant, hence the lighter periods

in general, women do not ovulate on birth control. Check this out...http://www.wdxcyber.com/bcp.htm

Since you DO have a 1% chance of getting pregnant on ANY type of contraceptive correctly, yes you could ovulate.

NOTHING is 100% except abstinence.

Hormonal birth control works by inhibiting ovulation.

MissA is correct. I just wanted to add that birth control pills are actually designed to also increase mucous around the cervix to help block or prevent the sperm from getting further. I'm not 100% sure if this would add to normal discharge but I thought I'd mention it.
