Gynecologist and Dr?!

Question: Ok so here wher I live there are no gynos or obgyn! I have been having woman issues and I really am not getting much help from my MAN dr. I was wondering if it is worth getting a referal to a dr in another town. Or is a gyno just like a regular Dr?

Yes it is worth it. Gynaecologists are doctors who specifically specialise in the female reproductive system.

And you probably want a woman gynaecologist at least at first so you can talk more easily with her about your body that she can personally relate to. You also probably will be more comfortable being examined by a woman. Best wishes and good luck. And please feel free to email me if you like :)

An ob/gyn has special training, she is not the same as a family doctor. You should go the next town over and seek one out, it's that important.

Gyno's are doctors with a major in Gynecology, so they have better knowledge about female organs and problems. If you aren't satisfied with what you doctor is doing, I would get a referal.

If you aren't getting help from one Doctor, go to another. Don't forget, you are not only a patient, but a customer. If the store doesn't have shoes in your size, you'd go somewhere else, right? So go to someone else that specializes in your problem.
