Dictionary definition:
a reddish mark left on the skin by a passionate kiss

It's those nasty looking bruise liek things left on necks mostly and other parts of the body when people get intimate and suck on that spot on the skin. The sucking , just like if you suck on your arm, leaves a red mark, and sometimes even darker depending on how hard the area was sucked.
