Gyno visit and pap...?!


Question: yesterday i went to the gyno and had a pap (i have to wait about three week for the results) and the gyno said that everything was fine. could i still have a bad result in the pap when the gyno saw that everything was fine?

Well the gyno can't SEE everything...so even tho everything might look ok you can still have an irregular pap.

Irregular paps aren't something to get totally worried about right away. I had one once and they just do another and it came back fine.

You really can't know if everything totally ok until you get those pap results back. ALSO, I know some places don't even contact you unless something IS WRONG with your pap...

Yea, they can't see everything just by lookin'.

you wont know your result til the pap smear test comes back good luck hope it all goes well 4 u try not to stress 2 much

I know you're concerned, but just be patient and wait for the result. Pelvic exam done by your gynecologist only tells you there's no visible inflammation; however, only the changes seen in the cells from the PAP could tell if everything is normal i.e there's no early sign cervical cancer.

yes. When he says everything looks fine, he means your cervix looks good and the wall lining looks good. But he can't see other types of problems...that is what the swabbing is for. The can also have a result come back abnormal...that isn't neccessarily a bad thing. My friends comes back like that everytime she has one but she is fine.
