What to expect at a Urologist appt?!

Question: I have to go see a Urologist and I have never been before and I am wondering what to expect to happen at the appt as I am a bit nervous.

I dont know if what I am being sent for matters, but if it does, I need to go because I have had 2 urinary tract infections within the span of a month.

Thanks for any help!

It depends on what they suspect you of having. They will firstly wanta urine sample from you (you may be asked to bring it in) and they'll analyse it for infections and bacteria etc. They may insert some potasium liquid (can't remember exactly what it is) directly into your bladder to test for IC, i think they do that through a tube (sorta like an injection unfortunately)- it should only take 5 minutes and and apparently isn't painful, more unconfortable :S.

They'll also want to check your urinary track- but i'm not sure how they'll do that! Try googling IC will help you.

I've had 7 UTI's in 5 months and have got my first urology appointment soon!! Try me i know how you feel
