Hpt results accurate at 26 days past sex?!

Question: I had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago. I was on my first month of birth
control and was told to use extra protection all month. Well I did but
one time in the third week on it, the condom broke! We were as safe as could be and stopped right
away before he ejaculated and he had peed before but I was still worried about precum risk. I was due for my 'pill period' in a few
days and took the plan b emergency contraception pill a day after the
accident. I had a period when expected but was concerned because it was
short and light and thought maybe I still could be....

anyways.
11 days after sex I had a blood pregnancy test performed and it was
negative.
I also tested at 14, 19 and 22 and today 26 days after the sex on first response home pregnancy
tests and got negatives...

I'm expecting my pill period next week but
I'm still scared that if I test again next week it'll suddenly be + !
I'm obsessing...Do you think I'm just worrying over nothing? Should I still be concerned about pregnanc

I remember you from a few days ago!

Anyway, if it satisfies you emotionally to keep peeing on sticks, then by all means continue, but at this point the odds of you having conceived from that particular act of sex (which were teeny to begin with, what with the pill, withdrawal immediately after condom breakage and prior to ejaculation, no pre-ejaculate, and EC) are so vanishingly small that you're really just wasting the cash. Pregnancy tests are really extremely accurate at this point.

I get paranoid about pregnancy sometimes too. But at some point you've just got to say to yourself, "Whew, dodged that bullet," and move on with life.

Well, they are accuratre 4 days past a missed period.

don't worry, it sounds like you are not. good for you to be so careful. thumbs up for that.

i've had a few scares myself, and believe me, just the stress can alter your periods. i even skipped on once because of stress!

just try to relax :)

yes, you are over obsessing, bigtime.

blood test don't lie. So if you took a blood pregnancy test and it came out neg. Chances are you're not pregnant. They are more accurate than hpts.

If you took a blood test and it came back negative along with all the other test I dont think you have anything to worry about!!

However, I am just like you and worry about it all the time! We could not even have a scare and I will still worry about it! But I honestly think you are ok on this one!!!

You are obsessing. The test is accurate 2 weeks after sex, no? You took the plan B AND are on bc...it's a really really low chance you are pregnant. The period was prob short b/c/o all the changes with theh hormones in plan B & the pill. They cause short, light periods. 26 days is almost a month....surely the pregancy hormone, hcg, would have shown up by then. I think your scare is over. Keep up being safe!

There's a home pregnancy test called "First Response" which claims to be able to tell you 5 days BEFORE you miss your period whether you're pregnant or not. Try that one. Good luck & stop stressing. Excessive stress can delay or stop your period completely (due to the hormones).

i'm glad that you are being responsible. finally! someone with common sense. when i first started using the pill, my period was very light also. this is totally normal, you don't have the same amount of hormones in your system, so you menstrual flow is usually lighter. i think you can rest easy, it sounds like you did everything right. kudos for using your brain!!!

You should be ok. The plan b pill can affect your period which might have caused it to be shorter than normal, but also while you are taking regular birth control your periods sometimes become shorter and lighter. And if you did a blood test I think everything is looking ok. But since nothing is 100% you could wait to see if you get your next period. But is all sounds like it will be a negative.
