Question: I like to hear from other women what it was like having their tubes tied. When you went to the doctors, was it painful when they did it? How do doctors to that? How old were you when you had your tubes ties?
Afterward, when you and you husband/boyfriend have sexual intercourse, and the semen gets in, it's a big chance you won't get pregnant 100%?

I was 20 years old when I had my tubes tied, but it was the day after I had my 3rd child. I couldn't have sex for awhile anyway. I have not gotten pregnant and that was 17 years ago. But I have heard of people who have gotten pgt. Nothing is 100% effective except not having sex. It was painful but you have to remember that I had just had a baby also.
I had mine done in August 2007 (I was 30 and we had 2 kids). I had a really great doctor, and I was a little sore for a couple of days, but it wasn't bad. They usually make 2 small incisions, one throght the belly button and one above the hairline. The worst part was the bloating afterwards, because they have to pump gas into your abdomen to make it easier to see your tubes. It takes a few days to go away, but it wasn't too bad either. My doctor told me not to have intercourse for 6 weeks after the procedure to allow for healing. I don't know what the percentage is, but it's considered permanent birth control because the tubes are completely sterile, so I would really think about it if you don't already have children. If you change your mind in the future, reversal of the procedure is difficult, if not impossible. How old are you?
mine was done a year ago nov3 they did the same procedure that scbetty just described i was sore for a while alot of people are scraed thier tubes will come un tied but im not i have 1 daughter my doctor made us wait a least 2 weeks before sex i dont think u can get it done without having any kids unless its for ur health or something im glad i had mine done i would do it again if i had to
