You are normal. Read more at http://www.kotex.com

Different Types of Discharge:

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

Start of your period- perfectly normal. It will probably get a little heavier in the next few days and then it will look more like "blood". Stock up on pantyliners etc.

you've started your period i do believe, the brown discharge is completely normal and will often come at the start or end of your period!

this is spotting. (: this SAME thing happened to me for about 4 days, and i got my first period 2 months later. it's normal. (:

unless it actually turns into blood (red or burgundy) then that's your period. i don't know, i got this spotting before i started...

brown vaginal discharge is completely normal. Actually I got my period the same way when i turned 14... But its sometimes how a period starts and sometimes ends. Even now I get the brown spotting sometimes. Right now your vagina is probably getting ready for your period and your body sometimes gets rid of dirty bood in your body, and thats the brown spotting you see.

You're probably getting your first period. Mine always starts out a bit brownish for the first day. Congrats! Go ttell your mom you need some pads or tampons.
