Is a vasectomy painful? Painful during recovery?!

Question: Hello,

I would be glad to hear of any personal experiences.

Is a vasectomy painful straight after and during the recovery process? If it is painful, which I can imagine would be at least a little, what is it compared to?

I've heard some say that it's less painful than a tattoo and a tooth pulled (both of which I have had).

Many thanks for any experiences.

It is nothing. The key is follow all the doctors directions, then follow all the doctors directions, and after that, follow all the doctors directions. About half the men don't follow all the directions. If they do, they will not be in pain. It is pretty much that simple.

It was done on Friday, and I was back to work on Monday. My friend was not so lucky because he jumped out of the cab of his jacked up 4x4 in the parking lot. Bad idea. Yes, he hurt after that!

I grew up hearing my dad's story about how his doctor started and finished his procedure prior to the local taking effect. I realize that this is very rare, but I'm not ready to get one.

Recovery is in the neighborhood of 1 week unless the guy has a physical job. Compared to surgery for preventing a woman getting pregnant, a vasectomy is not a big deal.

it all depends on the person, it can be lets say uncomfortable to most. Yes there is going to be some discomfort until it heals all the way. But once it is done it is go for it, no more worries about getting someone knocked up, well yea you would still have to be concerned about STD but other than that you are safe, good to go. Now as for the women folk they can do it by vagina or make it a operation by an insion into the lower belly, yet again I'm sure one would find some discomfort but it all depend on what your pain level is.

Not at all. I just had mine done in October. It was pretty much a joke.
