I was that way. Until I had my second child from being forgetful. I tried the IUD, it's a little plastic thing that they insert into your uterus. You don't need to do anything it's just there. But I could not cope with having something foreign in my body. And it causes cysts on your ovaries, so I had it removed. Now I am on the pill, and have my cell phone set to alarm everyday at the same time so I remember to take it.

There is the patch, but I'm pretty sure that's a bad idea. There have been lots of studies lately that it causes clotting, which can lead to death.

The shot.....usually causes weight gain.

Abstinence

they have thi snew thing that they put down there, it's like a clip but i cant remember the name of it. but once the insert it, it works for 5 years..and if you want it taken out earlier than that they can take it out.

tell him do not put to you he can control himself if you didn't ant pills.

why dont you make your cell to ring in a certain time to remember you to take the pill.... this way you wont forget to take it.

i take the depo shot and i know they say you gain weight on it but i haven't gained any weight on it and i've been on it a while. i've actually recently started working out again and i've lost weight so i really don't think weight gain is an issue with it. i just think you have to be careful with how you eat. but it's nice because like you i was horrible at remembering to take the pills daily with the depo you just go in once every 3 months and get a little shot.

Depo-provera (shot), IUD (implant), Nuva ring (ring inserted into the vagina and removed every 3 weeks). The nuva ring is simple, effective, affordable, and really works for me.

You could try the birth control patch. You put it on once a week, usually when you do something the same every week. Like every sunday, is pretty easy to remember.

the patch one... or the one that fits into your vagina for 3 weeks and you take it out for a week when you're having your period... i forgot what its called, i'll try and help you look for it but you have to be a non-smoker

its called nuva ring, i just remembered

Use the patch or get a shot. I think thats every 6 months. Or what about using the pill but do it with something else you do daily i.e. brushing your teeth (keep them near the toothpaste), using deodorant (keep them near that), doing make up, a certain food or snack, etc.

i heard of this thing that the doctor puts inside of you and it like kills any sperm that is in contact with it and it goes like right by your cervix or something and it doesn't hurt (i heard)...but i don't know what its called... I also heard of the birth control patch but i don't know if that one would make you gain weight or not.

There is the patch, the ring, and IUD's. I have used the ring, but didn't like it.

IUD's last for 5 years (I think you can get varying lengths of time, and it can be taken out earlier if need be).

I would not go for the depo shot if I were you - I tried it for 6 months and gained 15 pounds PLUS I was depressed all the time.

If you are typically active and don't eat poorly, the pill should not make you gain weight. I've been on several different pills and none of them have made me gain weight. If you want to try the pill again, you could put them next to your toothbrush so you remember to take one when you brush your teeth every morning/night etc.

Good luck.

Hmm thats a tough one. I was actually on the patch for a little while and doing fine except I had an allergic reaction the the glue that holds it on so I had to go off it. I also did the Nuva-ring for a while too. It worked really good and you only have to deal with it once a month. I had to change it because of some medication I was taking for epilepsy but other than that I had no problems with it. The one way that I now make sure I take my pill everyday is set it in a place that I have to see it before going to bed. I wash my face every night before bed and take out my contacts so I leave the pill case right on the back of the sink so I will see it and remember. Im sure you know this but the best way to not gain weight with anything including birth control is to work out and eat healthy. Trust me I have had that issue myself and its really not the meds or not smoking its all a mental thing, at least thats my opinion. May be right may be wrong but just my point of view. Good luck in finding something right for you.

There are nowadays many forms of hormonal birth control that don't involve having to remember to take a pill every day. Unfortunately, it is the hormones that cause the weight gain so whichever form you use, there will always be the possibility that it will cause you to gain weight. You'll just have to go through a kind of trial and error phase to find what's right for you.

Contraceptive patch - a clear plastic-like patch you put somewhere on your body and change every week.

Vaginal ring - a flexible ring that you insert into your vagina for 3 weeks at a time.

Also, injection, implants.

Sorry I can't give you more info I really have to run.

I think they call the incert Maraina it works like an iud but has hormones too making it a true contraceptive instead of just birth control.

They have a depo shot but i would be weary on that...it sounds good because you only get your period every 4 months, but if you think about it that seems unhealthy. Theres tons actually, all listed here...

there are some that you wont be able to take or shouldnt take..make sure you talk to your gynocologist (you'll have to anyways to change b.c) Also be warned that IUD's can cause miscarriages and usually your gynocologist wont let you have one until you have succesfully given birth to a healthy baby.

You can also take one of these quiz to help you out...

Well, there are now several hormonal options that don't require everyday attention: injections like DepoProvera, the vaginal ring, and the birthcontrol patch. Dosage lasts from a week to several months, depending on the method. However, they are all hormonal options, and come with all the warnings and potential side effects that attend any hormonal method. And there's no guarantee that they won't make you gain weight.

The only other "set it and forget it" reversible option is an IUD. You can get a copper coil or the Mirena coil, which does release some hormones, but shouldn't have quite the impact of the pill or other purely hormonal methods. Advantages are that it's very effective, it'll last for years, and it's pretty darn unobtrusive. Disadvantages: rather expensive up front, must be installed by a doctor (and you'll probably want a local anaesthetic when they install it), may cause, at least initially, increased cramping and bleeding, and quite a few doctors refuse to install one in nulliparous women (i.e., you haven't previously carried a pregnancy to term).

Other than that, unless you want your tubes tied, you're pretty much stuck with spermicides, barrier methods, or fertility awareness methods. The most effective and cheapest of these methods is the old-fashioned condom and spermicide.

1: the Nuvaring, You put it in your cervix and leave it in for 3 weeks and then throw It out and go with out it for 1 week.
2: Mirena IUD a doctor inserts it in your uterus and it can be left in for up to 5 years.
3: Trans-dermal Patch goes on to your arm and you change it once a week.

I have heard that taking birth control pills for a certain period of time will affect a woman's fertility.Women in this country are sexually active. There was this young woman on tv saying the reason girls like her can't wait til marriage to have sex is that they don't want to be left out.Of what?Of a a few minutes of happiness?Yes,instant gratification. That goes to show they don't respect their bodies.I don't want to sound judgemental but I wouldn't want to marry someone who had multiple partners. This is just my opinion.Whether people like it or not, there will be consequences for everything we do.

Try the nuva ring. Its inserted right outside your cervix. You leave it in for 3 weeks and remove it the fourth week and then have your period. So you only have to worry about it once a month. You can also try an IUD, which one of the them can be left in for 10 years and the other 5 but I would be careful with IUDs, they have been known to cause unwanted pregnancies and for the first couple of months very painful periods. Hope this helps

I would not recommend depo, it treats many women horribly, class action lawsuit horribly!

I am on Kariva (almost 2 years) and have had no side affects at all. Its a pill.

Now I'm horrible with pills, but what I do is I set my cell phone CALENDAR, to go off every day at a certain time, so when it goes off, I go take my pill.

Plus I also have my fiance to remind me to take them!
