What birth control method do you find to be the best?!

Question: I have been using the pill since I was 14. In the last couple of years I've been trying to use different methods with the least side effects (pills always made me sick) I loved the Ortha Evra patch but it has since been taken off the market and am now using the Nuva Ring which kinda grosses me out. Need something with less side effects and low maintenance!!

i haven't gotten any for a while that's the safest

An aspirin tablet. held very tightly between the knees, and don't let go!

That's easy. Sleep alone. I know, novel concept. Try it...

Well, I don't know about low maintenance, but my absolute favorite was the diaphragm. It's kinda like a rubber for women, it fits over your cervix. You put a little spermicide around the edge so it gives you a better seal, and one more line of defense. No chemicals to speak of. If having sex while on your period is an issue, with this little gadget it won't be anymore. I will hold blood for a long time. You don't take it out until like the morning after, so you can relax after sex, and it's very effective IF you are very sure to use it exactly as directed. The doctor will have to fit you. One bad thing is it doesn't protect against sexually transmitted diseases. So be aware.

Have you had a baby? If so, try an IUD, I got it inserted about a year ago after my son was born and I love it. Its good for 5 years, and I haven't have a period since I got it.

If you haven't had a baby, try the depo shot. It is very low maintence, its a shot every 3 months. Just be aware that a lot of women have problems with it. You either have your period the entire time or you don't have it at all...I sadly had the first option, but my sister-in-law was on it for 6 years with no problems.

Less side effects... DO NOT get the depo shot! Too many women suffer horribly on the depo shot, some still are recovering after years of being off of it.

I have had NO side affects on Kariva (pill).

But it varies from woman to woman.

Consult with your doctor.

DON'T get depo. There are class action lawsuits against the makers of this shot. Google "depo provera lawsuit" and read the reviews of ALL birth control methods on http://www.rateitall.com

I don't use any birth control because birth control pills make women stop menstruating, causes women to grow thick grizzly beards and moustaches like men, makes hair turn grey, thin, brittle and to fall out.
Also skin becomes sagged out, you either become too thin or obese. I knew a 34 year old woman and she looked like she 55 years old.
Foam is messy.
Placing a diapham isn't something I want inside of me.
Female condomn is perfect.

Why does Nuva Ring gross you out? If it is a problem putting it in, try using tampon applicators. Nuva Ring has some pretty low side effects compared to things like pills, patches, and shots. It is one of the best birth control options out there. You could try an IUD like Mirena. I have been looking into that one a little bit but have heard of problems with the IUD moving and having to go back in and get it put back in place and that worries me about accidentally getting pregnant. And it still has a lot of side effects. Maybe copper IUD but that one scares me a little bit from what I've read online.
My suggestion is go to a gyno and have them talk to you about your options.
