Here in the US, while it is legal, it can be difficult for a childless woman to get tubal ligation, particularly if she's young or single. Unless you have a medical condtion that will threaten ur life when ur pregnant he won't do it.
I think it depends on what state you live in and what the guide lines are for that state. In my state unless you have a serious medical problem, have had children and are certain you don't want more, they will not tie your tubes unless you are 25 with children.
I had mine done after 3 children when I was 21. I tried to have it done when I was 19, but they wouldn't let me do it unless I had a problem pregnancy, which I did not. After 3 children though, they went ahead and did it. This was in the U.S., Michigan. I don't know if it varies by state or by Dr., but I would check into it.
