this is probably amenorrhea ( = loss of period). this can be due to: lots of exercise & not enough calories, being underweight, really overweight, too much stress...all of these things are not good for your body. this causes estrogen to decrease. this is bad because its the female hormone women have to regulate bone density. without this hormone your bones are in danger of becoming very brittle. scary! i would definitely see a dr. immediately to get some advice. you don't want to have the bones of an 80 year old at a young age! good luck.

You could be pregnant I think thats the worst thing that could happen.

See a doctor!! Pronto!!

I would go see a doctor and ask about that. If I am not mistaken, if you don't have a period it means you also aren't ovulating. I'm not sure that's a real problem unless you want to have kids down the road.

You need to be checked by a doc, that's not normal. Do you have eating disorder? Some times that can throw several of you organs off.
Good luck

you should really check up on that. go see a doctor. usually, when you first start your period, it normally takes up to a year for it to regulate. now in your case, it's been four years. a bit too long, don't you think?

Yes, definately see a Dr. immediately. Most likely it's hormone issues. And the Dr. will put you on medication to regulate your hormones. A woman is supposed to have her period. It isn't really natural not to. Trust me! Health-wise you WANT your period. You want to be a healthy woman. I know, it sounds weird. But it's true.

It is a common issue in women training for athletics, very stressed or very underweight. If you exercise a lot I wouldn't worry about it unless you are trying to get pregnant. In that case you would need to cut back on the workouts. The stress and weight issues are more serious and you should seek help for relieving stress or gaining weight.

If it is bothering you enough to pose this question to a bunch of strangers, then its probably something you need to talk to a gynecologist about. He or she is the only one who can give you sound advice.

Are you old enough to have gone through menopause? If you have not had a period in 4 years, and nothing has happened to you physically, I for the sake of peace of mind, I would go see a doctor. But I would not be worried after all this time.

how old are you?? If you're not a granny then get your butt into the doctor NOW! This could very likely be a serious problem and if you don't get checked soon... who knows what may happen. Make sure you tell the doctor it's been 4 years!! I'm worried for you please go!

I had this same problem, and didn't really do anything about it for a year and a half. I went to many doctors, and they told me I was underweight, and I was running too much. Yet when I did gain my "normal" weight, I still didnt get it. After my year and a half, and a lot of different methods to trying to get my period back(acupuncture, nutritionist) I finally had to go on the birth control pill. I have been on this pill since the summer, and I have been getting my period every month. If I were you, I'd try the pill, it works right away.
