Question: I've been on my period for 6 days now and the flow is still kind of heavy. I've seen a doctor and asked her if that was normal and she said yes but I'm not convinced. Is it normal to have a heavy period for this long? If so, how much longer will this be going on?

Yeah, it is normal...It is TOTALLY annoying...You never know when it'll stop or start.....It stinks to be a woman :)

If it goes on longer and your genuinely concerned then speak to a doctor, maybe a different one.
its normal... my friends mom said that once she had hers for 2 weeks! but the norm is 3 to 7 days....with 5 being the average, me myself have only about 4 days, but yea your fine!
yup its totally normal. it happens to me sometimes so dont worry. my periods can last up to 8 days
a friend of mine literally has her period ALL winter - and then nothing all summer.

It is different for all of us! And yes, yours is probably normal. If it bothers you or affects your ability to function normally, perhaps a birth control method that stops your periods (for the sake of stopping the periods) is worth trying. It's what my sister does.
It is normal for me. I have had even longer ones. I once bled for 3 months straight like that and ended up having to have a D&C to stop the bleeding.
Even if it is out of the normal range for you, I would not worry about 6 days.
