What do you do to make period cramps less painful?

I suffer from very painful crams. When I start to feel them, I take a Motrin, go for a walk around my 'hood, then come home and use a heating pad on my back. Sometimes I alternate between hot and cold. In the evenings, I take a nice hot bath and soak for a bit. It helps a lot. Also, try staying away from salt, as that can make cramps worse.

you can use a hot pad they make at stores espicially for menstrual cramps or just try some advil, tylonal, motrion, or midol. Maybe even a nice warm bath. That usually helps me.

Good Luck!

Exercise, bananas, hot baths, heating pads, etc.
and yes EXERCISE! if your body is doing other things it will take your mind off of the pain.

i eat a banana or two every day, it helps me out alot. A friend of mine also told me that keeping your feet warm helps. Good luck :)

There are some wonderful herbal teas made just for that purpose. Try Traditional Medicinal's Organic Rasberry Leaf tea that supports the female system.

Getting out and about- starting from a day or two before your period starts- could help. Exercise can help your body cope better and it can help things go by faster.

You could also try peppermint tea, it helps cramps in the tummy area.

Another thing that might help is to drink more water and eat more fruit and vege (It's my remedy for everything!!!!!)

a heating pad and advil

I've found that my cramps aren't as bad as they used to be when I was younger, however I was prescribed BC because of my awful period cramps. I've found that heating pads are really good, and there are icy/hot pads specifically made for menstrual cramps and you can wear them on your stomach for up to 8 hours.

Birth Control

Anaprox......prescription, and heating pad.
