I just got my period!!?!

Question: I just got my period I already told my mom, but I have so much questions.

What are cycles?
How long should you have your period?
When you stop having your period when does it come back?
Should you shower?
Does anything you eat affect it?

Congrats! You are a woman now! I agree with the first 2 answers :) Also consider having your mom buy you a book now that your body will be going through so many changes. Knowledge is power!

on a very high note speak to your mom she well assist you with everything.

you should have your period 2-7 days. it really depends on the person. yes, it comes back every 25-25 days ((28 is average)) no, eating doesnt affect it at all, you might hear some old wives tales but trust me, it doesnt. and yes you shower, just like you would on every other day.

hope this helps!

it usually lasts from 4 days to a week.
it comes back every month
YEA u should shower
no nothing u eat affect it
its just natural

Cycles are when your period comes...average is about 3-5 maybe 7 days .... your period comes back once a month to clean out ur uterus (the place that the baby lives when pregnant) ..... you can shower feel cleaner when you shower rather than take a bath and nothing you eat affects it or it shouldn't at least... good luck honey you will be ok worse part really is cramps...

cycles are the monthly period.
it lasts a couple days at most 5 depending on how heavy your flow.
yes you should shower.
and nothing you eat should affect it although you may have stomach cramps and less of an apetite or certain cravings.

well ur period sucks and it depends like some people theres stop inn a week but it dont last that long so dont worry and the reason we call it daily monthly is cuz it only comes once a month

#1 "cycle" is one way that people say "period" or it can mean the 28-day cycle that your body runs on, dealing with ovulation
#2. 4-7 days is normal
#3. It comes back the same time it started next month
#4 Yes.. bathing will help you feel clean and refreshed.. You may notice that you stop bleeding when you contact water (still should use a tampon if you wanna swiim though)
#5.. making sure you get enough of certian nutrition can help you have less painful periods..you'll have to find out which..

What are cycles? Cycles are things you ride on
How long should you have your period? Your period will last until class is over.
When you stop having your period when does it come back? When the next class starts.
Should you shower? Yes if you don't you will stink.
Does anything you eat affect it?. The teacher.

What are cycles? Cycles are when it happens technically.
How long should you have your period? It usually takes a few days, then it will slow down as the months go by.
When you stop having your period when does it come back? It comes back around the same day every month, so I would put a pad on about 3 days before that date.
Should you shower? Of course!
Does anything you eat affect it? No.

P.S
You may have a few bad stomach aches, so...take a Motrin before you go to school or something :)

congratulations!

an average cycle is every 28 days, so you'll get it once a month -- sometimes a little before or sometimes a little after the 28 days, it lasts about a week (sometimes more, sometimes less), yes,you should most definitely shower - but avoid baths (for obvious reasons!). you can go swimming with a junior tampon (it will NOT affect your virginity).

nothing you eat will affect it.

Cycles are when you have your period. You will have a cycle every month. The same day every month. The first time ever having your period, it could last up to 7 days. Then after that, it will be around 5, maybe 6. It just all depends but it is all normal so don't worry about anything. Yes, you should deffinately shower. You will get odor down there and it does smell pretty salty. I would recommending douching after your period. It makes you feel so much cleaner. If you don't know what douche is, you can ask your mom or you can just go to any drug store and look near the tampons and pads and all that other stuff. It will say douche on the front. You just have to look. They come in boxes. They have different scents too. I don't think anything you eat affects it. But you might experience cramps, back aches, etc. Just take midol or advil, or use icy packs or a heating pad. If I can't sleep at night, I use Advil PM. It is the best! You'll be fine. Trust me

What are cycles? every 28 days
How long should you have your period? normally between 3 and 7 days it varys between people
When you stop having your period when does it come back? 4 weeks
Should you shower? Yes definitely
Does anything you eat affect it? Not really, continue to eat a balanced diet.

In my experience these are the answers:
1. Cycles are what your body goes though every month, egg dropping, waiting for fertilization, etc.
2. The average period is 5-7 days
3. Each cycle is different, but the average cycle is 28 days
4. Please Shower, because the menstruation is truly dirty and smelly
5. Not that I know of, but chocolate is recommended.

Wow sweety, maybe you should talk to a school nurse or someone, most girls know this stuff. Let me try to help though.
Your cycle is mainly about your period, how many days a month you are on, and how many off. That is the easiest way to explain it.
Your period can last 2 days to 8 or more, but 5 is the normal.
If this is your first period, it may not come back for a few months, it may come back next month. It is different for everyone, especially when you are just starting. You should get your period once every month though.
You can shower, bath, swim, anything you want really. Don't think of this as a hinderence, it is a normal part of growing up. If you want to take a bath or swim, I would suggest a tampon, especially if you are bleeding very heavy. Baths aren't a real problem unless you want to sit in the water.
I have never had anything I ate effect my period. You may crave chocolate, or other foods that comfort you, because you may be more emotional.
I hope this helps!

cycles to the pattern of your period(one every month)
it comes back next month
yes shower just like normal just be sure to put a pad on after the shower
at times, not drasticaly its safe to eat whatever you usuallt eat although salty foods and things somethimes make it worse, and water and fiber make it feel better. Depend on the person,

Keep a smile on! every woman goes through it =)

p.s cramping (when ur stomach hurts) can be helped with a lot compress just leave it on for a bit it realy helps.

ok, how old are, cuz it kinda depends on ur age & how late or early you start...
wen mine came on 4 tha 1st tyme it stayed on 4 a week.
but now it stays on for 4 days @ tha most...
then again ery1 isz different.
yes, wat you eat can effect tha flow of ur period. it is supposed 2 *** on within a 28 day period of time... but i hav friends that get theres every otha month...
lucky them.!
lol, but you def should shower becuz it isz 1 of the WORST body odors...
u usually can smell if a person's period is on.!
a cycle jus means your period cums in a cycle... (every 28 days)

but gud luck with everything.!

Congratulations! Welcome to womanhood! A 'cycle' is how much time there is between the start of your period to the start of your next period. These are variable, and are usually 28-32 days. When you are having regular periods (this is just your first, and you may be immediately regular, or you may be very irregular for several months before 'leveling out') the period can last anywhere from 2.5-8 days. Yes, you should shower when you have a period ... but if you prefer taking baths go ahead and take them. The period actually 'stops' when you are submerged in water down there, but there may be some 'dripping' into the tub so you may want to at least 'shower off' if you get blood on yourself.
You should watch your salt intake and drink plenty of water from 1.5 weeks BEFORE your period until after it's done ... 'plenty' is AT LEAST 8 eight ounce cups of water. This will help your body 'shed' those dead blood cells and get ready to start another round of 'getting ready for a baby' ... you are FAR TOO YOUNG to be wanting to get pregnant, yet, but the body needs to do this now, so that when you do want to have a baby, it's ALWAYS READY. Now, ask your mom to take the two of you out for a sundae ... you deserve it, and so does she.

Wow, that last one was lame...

I remember how worried i was & uncomfortable! SCARY! i know. 5-7 days is fine. if its shorter...don't worry! You're lucky, but the first time may differ from the rest. 4 weeks on a calendar, from the starting day to the next starting day---and maybe even having a little calendar to mark it...could help remember. And please...if you have older sisters or someone you feel comfortable talking about it...TALK To em! I regret not being open about that when i just started! I'm 19 now and i have issues where i HAVE to talk about it!!!

Good luck chicka!!!

Cycles are the time from the beginning of one period to the beginning of the next period. On average, they are 28 days, but anything from 3-6 weeks can be considered normal.

You can expect your period to last between 3 and 7 days.

When your period stops, it will come back approximately 28 days from the first day of your last period. This can vary from woman to woman, and anything between 3 and 6 weeks can be considered normal. When you first get your period though, it can take some time for your body to adjust, and your periods may not be regular for a while.

Yes, you can shower (or do anything else that you'd normally do) when you have your period.

I have never heard of any particular food affecting your period. However, if you are extremely overweight or underweight, it could affect how regularly you get your period. You may also notice that you tend to crave certain foods when you have your period (I know I crave chocolate and salty foods).

I hope this helps, but you shouldn't feel shy about asking your mom any questions you have. She's gone through this too.

1. I'm really bad at explaining things so I'll let someone else explain that one(I know you'll get an answer)
2. anywhere from 3-8 days(depending on your own body and your genes)
3.Yes, generally you get your period every 28 days(from the day it starts), but it will probably be a little irregular for you.
4.Yes of course shower! And clean down there too. The water actually stops it for a short period of time(usually) so you don't have to worry about leaking everywhere in the shower. Just have a pair of undies and a pad or tampon ready to use when you get out
5. Once again I'll let someone answer that. I don't think anything could effect it drastically if you have a normal diet though

Oh and remember that stress can also effect it, so if you end up being a week late it could be because of stress or like I said before, the irregularity at the beginning

Go to the circus and talk to "Poe-Poe" the clown. He has all the answers. Your buddy, Bob......
