Generic birth control pills?!

Question: i take Tri-Sprintec (the generic for ortho-trycyclen) and i was just wondering if they are exactly the same?

i've researched this online and people say ortho is soo much better then tri-sprintec, but how is that when they are supposedly the same ingredients?

thanks

yes they are the same

They have the same active ingredient. For a pill to be the generic of another, the FDA has to declare both pills to be chemically equivalent. They are made of the same chemical and work by the same mechanism in the body.

Occasionally, generic pills and even different brands of the same medication will have different dyes and fillers in them which may react differently in some people. However, this is quite rare and it is correct to say that TriSprintec and TriCyclen are the same.
