How can I find a nurse to give me injections?!

Question: Hi,

I need to start an IVF cycle and I need several injections. I can give most of them to myself but there is one in each cycle that needs to be administered by some one else and is time sensitive. My husband is too afraid and my children are too young. How can I find a nurse to do it for me, to make sure it is done right. My doctor's office is too far, and I may not make it on time there.

You contact various Private home care company's, like Bayshore, Comcare, Para-Med and St. Elizabeth's. The will have nurses that can come and give you your injections.

Depending on where you live the may be funding for the nurse through the goverment health. For explain in Ontario under OHIP you can contact the Community Care Acess Centre (CCAC) who will then contract one of the above companies to supply a nurse.

If it is not covered by the helath care system then I may be cover under the para medical cover of either your or your husbands benefit plan.

I hope this information helps you!

Ask at your doctors office, they should be able to refer you to a homecare agency, which will send a nurse to visit you at your house.

Good luck with your IVF!
