i'm not a woman but my wife broke her hymen as a child in a bycycle accident, so she did not loose her vrginity to the bike, i'm not an expert but i believe that you are a virgin until you have intercourse with someone.
If she has not had sex before, then she is a virgin! It has nothing to do with the hymen really, it is just an old fashioned way of telling whether a girl has had sex or not. A hymen can be broken doing lots of things such as sports or stretching too far so it is not an accurate indicator of a girl's sexual orientations!

A hymen is easily torn. Whether she has had sex or not. If she has had sex she is still a virgin. Her hymen may have been torn while playing a sport or inserting a tampon. Nothing to worry about.
