Kind of gross...period question!?!

Question: Okay, so Im' only 14 and I noticed my flow is super heavy! Almost always it leaks over the sides of my pads, and I use to biggest kind with wings. Its really embarassing, and one time at school it even went through my jeans. I'm not allowed to use tampons, my mom would freak out, and she'd be mad. So is there any solution to this curse? ): I've been waisting a lot of money lately throwing out my panties and having to change the pads so much also

lol.
its ok. its normall and it happends to me.

I even used the biggest size! it sucked.

this is what I do.. just use like 2 medium/small size pads and put one on the upper side of ur undies. and put the other one on the lower side of your undies-make it so that the pads are ontop of each other...so like its longer. but not too much.. so that your butt doesn't look weird lol.

try it. it may not feel comforable..but all pads aren't comforable..

so hope I helped ^^

i think you should use tampons even if your mom dosent like it then hide it from her, the same thing happens to me when i use pads so i have to use tampons.

your period will be lighter when you are a non-virgin.

When I get mine, I wear a tampon and a pad, and since you can't weat a tampon, wear 2 or 3 pads, it sounds like alot but it works.

Buy pads that are for overnight. I've tried that and it worked for me because they're larger.

Ummm birthcontrol? But if your mom will not let you use tampons then i doughbt she will put you on birthcontrol. Maybe just change your pad more often until you are able to use tampons/birthcontorl.

Maybe the person you should be asking this is your mom. She is the one who would know to contact your doctor or not. It is possible that she had the same problem you did when she was your age. You think she would be mad regarding tampons, I think she would be more upset asking strangers for answers than her.

I suggest getting birth control. Birth control can help lessen the flow within 2-3 months of using it. It's also really good for easing bad menstrual cramping.

weare like 4-5 pad i kow it sounds a lot and wear 2 underwear u should wear loose clothes too

Get the Always Maximum Protection Pads. I wear those to bed at night. I havae never had any accidents with those pads. My flow is heavy too. I got tired of messing up my good panties and jeans, so I went to using tampons and pads. Good luck. Your period will get lighter as you get older.

but the maxi type or use night ones. theyre longer so itll absorb more and keep the front n back from leaking.

You should tell your mom you need to use tampons along with pads....there are few things more embarrassing than bleeding through your pants for the whole school to see.....also, it makes for a very long week constantly worrying if your bleeding through your pants....There really isn't any other solution....they don't make GIANT PADS! Good Luck. I hope she understands.

you should get DEPENDS its a diaper that you dont have to worry about embarrassing you unless your flow is that heavy. but i think you should talk your mom ino letting you take b/c so it can give you lighter periods

maybe try wearing over night pads and putting some extra toilet paper. and save those old old underwear and put 2 underwear on and if they are old or ugly then you may not feel as bad as you would if they are pretty and had to throw them away. but try to convince your mom. you can always disobey her but i wouldn't do that

I had the same problem at your age, so did my daughter and even the tampons didn't alway help.
Have you told your mom? This tends to run in families and she will probably understand.
I still have this problem and take the homeopathic remedy 'sabine' for it, also the herb - yarrow. They both help, but talk to your mom first, birthcontrol pills are not your only option.

You need to check in with your gynecologist to see what prognosis is good for you. If that be a tampon and pad or some other combination needs be followed that is between you and your doctor and not because of someone Else's beliefs or fears! There is no need for you to be uncomfortable in your life as an adult female human, as you are menstruating!
