What kind of birth control would you recommend for me?!

Question: i have tried several methods and cant find one i like..
i had the pill and forgot to take it
i tried the patch and didnt like it
i tried the ring and it caused me problems.
what else is there??
i liked the ring because you didnt have to worry about anything for 3 weeks. is there anything else out there where you just have to do something once a month?

Hi Have you talked to your GYN, there are a few things you can get like an IUD which in inserted into your uterus that stays for 5-10 years and prevents pregancy..the good part is if during those 5-10 years you decide you want to become pregnant you simply go back to your GYN and they remove it. The procedure is just like getting a papsmear and it takes just a few short minutes, it depends on age and other risk factors.

There are also things like Norplant which is implanted into your arm and is effective for a period of 5 years and can also be removed early if you choose to become pregnant before the 5 years are up.

Then you have the DepoProvera injection which requires every 3 months you visit your GYN for an injection. Which you dont have to remember to take a pill or put on a patch but you will have to be like clock work with your 4 times a year appointment..

The best thing to do is to make a consultation with a Gyn and discuss all your options and what fits your lifestyle and health that is best for you.

Good luck.

There's Depo-Provera, an injection you get once every 12 weeks.

there is a shot that you get every 3 months, but it usually causes a lot of weight gain. depo-provera is what its called. you can read about it.

This website talks about all sorts of birth control options. There is the depo shot, but I've heard it can have major side effects. There is also what is called Norplant, an implant that is put into your arm that releases hormones and stays in place for 5 years. There are also IUDs like Mirena. Check out the site for information, and talk to your doctor. What sort of problems did you have with the ring?

Best my knowlegde for you to talk your doctor about birth control. They'll explain with you what you'll need get.

abstinence is the most effective
