My cervix started bleeding during a cervical screening, is this normal?!
Question: I'm freaking out a bit, because during my cervical screening on Friday, my cervix started bleeding rather heavily. I'm about 14 days into my cycle, so it wouldn't have been menstrual blood, and I want to know if this is normal

Dont worry - thats happened to me before. You can get whats called a cervical erosion where some of the cells that are normally inside are outside the cervix. Its these cells that bleed when the screening is done as they are more delicate than the normal ones outside. The nurse told me that it was quite common esp if you've had kids. If you're worried though get it checked by the doc.
absolutely normal, this happened to me i was really so embarased, but the nurse doing it said it happens to about half of women
so dont worry about it

ring nhs direct and ask them to be safe as most of us are not doctors
No this is not normal crevical screening is now a painfree easy test to get done and to do. If this was done by a nurse did she not alert the Doc. And if done by the Doc were you not given any kind of reassurance. I can only think that maybe the speculum has nicked you a little when being inserted. If bleeding continues consult a gynaecologist
