That's a huge 'it depends'. For young girls just starting their periods, it isn't unusual for the menarche (first period) to happen and then nothing for up to six months after. It takes the body time to figure out its natural rhythm sometimes.

Possible reasons for periods stopping other than the body adjusting to the new hormonal cycle in teens getting their first periods includes:

Pregnancy (first thing to think about if the woman has been sexually active)
Stress (usually one or two months)
Extreme weight loss (anorexia, heavy exercise)
Hormonal condition (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, or PCOS)

If a young woman misses a large number of periods in her teenage years, she is at an increased risk for brittle bones, called osteoporosis. 'Women with amenorrhea {no periods for more than six months straight} are at risk for osteoporosis later in life because they are not building normal bone mineral density during late adolescence.'

yes, it is if it's in the first two years that you get your period. if it's not, go see the doctor

your pregnant

it means there could be something wrong.

I guess then ur pregnat...i think

if being pregnant is wrong then yeah sure.

if ur on birth control or pregnant

I've been led to believe.

if you skip all together you have a problem with your body, or you are pregnant. go see a doctor.

you explode

= prego

You're either

a) pregnant

or

b) menopausal.

Go to your gyno.

You could be pregnant.....

ahhhh in most cases it will mean you're pregnant.

Wait 6 more months and I'm sure SOMETHING will come out.

I would definitely go to the doctor. Even if nothing is wrong, it would be reassuring to you. Good luck!

Hopefully you're not pregnant. Are you waaaayyyy to thin?? Having to little body fat will play havoc with your hormonal balance.

if its only ur like 2 nd year on your period then ur fine but if uve had ur period for a while go to the doctor. here go to the site and read

It is unusual.. I would not say it is dire, but you should go get yourself check out. It could be anything so don't worry; just go. Many times young women go through this and it is easily treated. Is pregnancy a possibility? If so, you really must see a doctor.

Sometimes but if its back you should be fine.....Call your Doctor..Good Luck Sweetie

It is not normal. You're either pregnant, too thin, or have some other gynecological problem. I vote see a doctor.

It is completely normal im very irregular so i only get my period like twice a year and if im lucky 4 or 5. doctors say its not very healthy because your system dosent clean out as it should. But if you do get this often trying going to a doctor and getting birth control to regulate it if your that concerned

Could be something that needs to be looked into with medical help How old is this woman? Is this a routine occurence and what other symptoms are occumpienied by this? any pain, etc. Keep a journal and seek answers but dont ignore.

YES , unless you are like at late 40s which woman stops mensuration , if not period wont stop if you have a healthy life style .

Depends how old you are. If your older than 16 or 17 then you may have a problem. But If you are within a few years of starting your period, this can happen. I would have it normal for a few months and sip 3 or 4 and then normal again, but then after 2 years it became regular.

Your period is suposed to be like clock-work...

EACH
AND
EVERY
MONTH.

Skipping a month (if your not on medication or birth control) more then once every few YEARS means that there is something wrong...

YOU NEED TO SEE A OBGYN!

That is NOT normal...

Either your knocked up ,or you exersise to much . Or cancer , Oh I think you might die , Just kidding See the vet.

no, if its in the beginning when you first get your period because your flow isnt regular yet. If its when your older it could be from a cause of stress or not eating right. but you should go check with a doctor to make sure it's nothing serious

If your periods are infrequent or irregular there can be underlying medical conditions (some serious) and I would advise going to see a doctor. I wont link you to possable causes as it would just freak you out un-necessarily but it IS something you should tell you doctor if nothing more then to be on the safe side.

Depends on many things. If you're young and just getting your period, it's sometimes not regular at the beginner. If you're older and perimenopausal, it's normal to be irregular, too. There are medications where you don't get your period regularly, too. Stress could make you skip your period, as could significant weight loss; an eating disorder like anorexia would make it stop until you gain weight. Thyroid disorders and other endocrine problems could cause disruptions with your period, too.

i really don't know a lot about it but my ex wife had this problem but that was normal with her sometimes she didn't have her period for 5 months so her Dr had to do a cleaning for her womb i think , she did it twice in a year but that was a permanent thing with her.
Ask your Dr, wish the best for you.
