Taking pill same time everyday?!


Question: I take my pills everyday I have only missed one in a year. I take it like a few hours apart like everyday. Example: one day I take it at 1 pm the next day 3 pm the next day 4 pm the next day 2 pm Is this makng it less effective or does it only matter if its like 12 hours apart?

Taking your pill at a different time every day will decrease the pills effectiveness. If you want to switch your time, take an entire pack at the exact same time everyday, and then on the next pack after you have your period, you can switch your time. Make sure you are very consistant though.

Depends on the type of pill. Check inside your pill packet for more info. Some of them are good for up to 12 hours.

With most of them if it's only a couple of hours difference it shouldn't change the contraceptive effectiveness.

It's still best to try and take them at exactly the same time though. Have you tried setting an alarm?
