Birth control question! What should I do?!? Any advice would be appreciated?!

Question: I went onto bc pills to regulate my period and balance my hormones but instead I stated getting my once every two weeks which is not normal for me.

Now I'm off the pills and my cycle is back to normal (once a month). Now I would like to go back onto the pill for hormonal reasons and to prevent pregnancy but I'm scared it messes up my cycle again.

Should I just try a different brand of pills and hope for the best or should I rather just use another form of birth control?

You might have to switch to a different kind of bcp. One of the most common side effects of the bcp is spotting between periods, however if it is contiual, you should see your doctor about it. After 3-4 months, this should subside and you should start to become more regular. There are a lot of different side effects that you should note from taking the pill, especially within the first couple of months, but do not stop taking them as they will usually subside in due time.

I will soon be on my 4th different prescription for birth control pills and I feel that I have seemingly had just about every single side-effect possible...all the way from headaches (migraines), to downright fatigue, mood swings, depression, anger issues, continual bleeding throughout an entire month, blood clotting issues (watch out for needle-like pains in the calf, arm, chest, abdominals, feet, and thighs along with cramping in the arm muscle and thigh muscle, sudden dizziness/weakness...all of which I experienced on one particular pill), and bloating (I think that covers everything that I have felt thus far in the game).

The thing is, is that the pill works differently with everyone and sometimes it takes a bit of time to find the pill that is right for you.

Tell your doctor about your previous problems when taking the pill. He will change the prescription straight and or give you new brand to use. Good luck, hope this will help.

Talk to the doctor about the pill you had, and how it gave you more periods than usual. He or she will put you on a different brand.
