Sounds serious. Synthetic hormones are hazardous to the health. I'd advise you to switch to a natural birth control method and you won't have to worry about that anymore.
Call your doctor and switch birth control pills. Maybe to something like Ortho Tricyclin Lo.
Did you just start the pills, around the same time you had trouble breathing? If not, you might just be getting sick. I had that problem too. I thought something was wrong because I was getting heart palpitations too, but I had bronchitis and an ear infection and my body was freaking out. Haven't had either problem since.
Stop taking the birth control immedeatly. Anything that causes you to gasp for air or feel weak and breathless is dangerous.
On a side note, the symptoms you are exhibiting also sound like the initial stages of anxiety. You may be anxiety free - I just remember feeling breathless as though I couldn't get enough air during my first few panic attacks.
I don't want to scare you but you have to Listen to me now. I had a friend who was 31 years old and had been on birth control pills for a long time. She died one day in her bathroom from "debris in the bloodstream caused by birth control pills". She just collapsed and died. Her boyfriend said she was tired and short of breath for a several days before she died. See you doctor immediately and get off birth control! It's not worth your life.
you could be having an allergic reaction to the birth control pills. Talk to your doctor.
