Women with PCOS: what birth control product do you find most effective..?!

Question: in relieving your symptons? I thought I had PCOS because I had irregular periods, excessive body hair growth (except gaining weight). I saw a doctor he preformed a blood test and said I had a very mild conditions. So he put me on Loestrin24 to normalize my periods and reduce excessive hair growth. has anyone tried this product as well too?

What are your PCOS symptoms (at least those you have associated with PCOS)?

BC pills do not work to relieve my extreme PCOS symptoms. My specialist put me on Spironolactone (lowers androgen levels) for the hirsutism... it has helped me with more than that though. The moods are better, the cold sweats have pretty much stopped if I eat properly (insulin uptake is prob for PCOS women), perma-PMS as stopped, among other things.

Was it a endoctrinologist or gynecologist who said you have "mild conditions" based on just a blood test? Sounds more like a general practitioner to me....

This is one of the best sites I've come across for information on PCOS in one place. See the sub-menu on left, there are 14 pages:

http://www.womens-health.co.uk/pcos.asp

Another great source (newsletter is good):

http://www.pcosupport.org

I have a bunch of files saved here regarding PCOS and the health issues... drop me a line with email addy if you want them forwarded in a zip file.
