Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome?!

Question: I was told I had this about a year ago (I'm 23) and I ended up having a laparscopy where my doctor drained a cyst off of one of my ovaries.

Well I had the surgery last July and lately I've been having the same pain I use to before. Also I havent gotten my period...what I want to know is how soon can the cyst come back? I know they will keep coming back..and honestly I am scared to death of going through this again.....and most of all not being able to have kids later on when I am ready...

Please anyone who has this let me know if you had problems again after surgery..how soon after did it come back..and if you have had kids...

I need some sort of hope ..because at this point I feel so lost.

I have cysts on my ovaries so I've been told since I was your age and now I'm 43!! Maybe mine are different but I never had any surgery. I hurt on one side when I ovulate, They go away by themselves and than they come back each month when I ovulate so the doctor said. They are painful but so far other than some pain they haven't caused me any big problems. Maybe yours is a different type than mine. I guess mine just never get big enough to cause me problems. The doctor told me that if the pain becomes severe to get to the ER but thus far I've never had to go. They do ultra sounds from time to time and some time they say I have a cyst and some times it shows that I have none!! I'm not trying to scare you but if you keep having problems they will eventually want to remove the ovaries. cyst are very common tho and lots of women have babies that have cyst. I had 3 children. I would talk with the doctor and get his opinion on this. I'm to afraid to give you wrong advice. I wish you the best of luck with this!!

aww i don't have an answer for u but i hope everything is ok and i hope u find the answers u need...good luck with everything..

well yes the cyst can seem to come back, and i dont believe that it can cause you to have problem with having kids, but talk to your doctor and find out, and see if they can take the cyst off instead of just draning it
