Nuvaring Q?!

Question: I started the nuvaring and I took it out at three weeks ..since that's what you're suppose to do, and had my period a few day later. Can I leave the ring in for four weeks and then change right to a new one and not have a period? I've heard of doing this to skip periods, but i don't know if it's true, can you?

I used nuvaring for about a year & I always started my new ring at three weeks. My Dr said I could either take it out & have a period,, leave the old one in for four weeks or go straight into the new pack. We discussed the different methods & reasons for each situation & possable pros / cons for my body & I finally decided that switching to the new pack after 3wks worked best for me. I did not have break through bleeding or a period at all. No health problems resulted that I or my Dr has noted from this use. I have since switched back to Depo,, it was previously unavailable in my clinic.
Good luck

I have never done this but technically you can, however it is not healthy and will lead to more break through bleeding which isn't very fun.

you can but will alter your future periods
