Is this normal when you come off of birth control?!

Question: I haven't had a period in 4 months (this happened once last year and I went to doctor and she said it was fine since I was on birth control) I have been on birth control for 3 years. But I stopped taking it this month, I was on the last week, I think I had taken 3 pills from the last row (I take the colored pills) So after about 3 days of missing the pill, I started my period and it lasted for about 7 days and I stopped for about 7 days until yesterday I started again and it was heavier this time that the week before last!! But Saturday my fiancee and I made love, I wondered if this triggered it again or is this normal after stopping the pill? Thanks for any advice and opinions.

This sounds normal to me. I would stop taking my pills when I had about 3 active ones left. I would come on my period as normal but then about a week after not starting a new pack I would start bleeding again just like my period and sometimes heavier. it will straighten its self out once you ovulate next month. Good Luck

this can happen as a side effect of coming off the pill but if you get to worried go see your gp.

Normal for some gals. You can expect your period to be all coo-coo for at least six months after coming off the pill. Sex can trigger a period, but it's more likely that it's your own body messing with you. When I came off birth control, my period was pretty whacky for a while, then it evened out three months later. My poor sister didn't get her period for five months (but had all the mood swings). I've never seen anybody so grateful to get their period in my life!
