I'm considering a breast reduction..?!

Question: I'm 17 years old & I am serious about a breast reduction. I absolutely hate the size of my 12DD/34DD chest. All my friends say that there are girls that would kill for a a big chest, but i just cant understand why.

It's depressing me and its limiting me in my sports and other movements. I step outside the house and I feel like I am a hooker lol. I honestly can't take it anymore. Bra shopping is a pain because there are hardly any shops that sell DD so I have to go to bra shops that sell their bras for like 50 buks each.

Its not fair. I am skinny and i do not know where the eff my chest came from. Every month before my cycle they become sore and swollen and i usually get pain in my shoulder muscles and high on my back. They certainly don't help my self esteem either. I am really sensitive about the issue and fear wearing bikinis! =[

How much is it approx. for a reduction?

is it worth it?

Would they accept a candidate like me?

I understand you 100%, at 18 i was a 16dd, by 23 i was a 18 DD/E. I tried exersize for 2 years, lost dress size only, the bra size went down to 16DD. I went to the doctor and got a referal to a plastic surgen.i told him of all the neck and back pain that i constantly have had for my whole life, he could feel the tension straight away in my shoulders. it was going to cost around $11,000 that was 2 years ago. i went on the waiting list for 2 yrs to go public , i had my op in feb 07 almost a year ago and you really cant notice to many scars. i now have great boobs, a large 14c. it was worth the wait i wouldnt change anything. i brought my first stapless bra yesterday it was great. just be carefull if you get too much off because you are a 12 you might look really small. good luck with your journey. i hope you resolve this. :) :) its nearly 12mths, scars are nearly back to skin coulour while they are pink they are not healed. they are hardley noticable. still no sensation on the nipple but have started to get feeling around it. :) :)

holy ****! if your back hurts though i would get a reduction.

My niece had a breast reduction at age 22. She was like an F cup! Her back hurt constantly, she had indentations on her shoulders from her bra straps piercing her skin. She was determined to do it and she did!

Her insurance paid for some the surgery because they sort of considered it to be medically necessary. She had to pay a copay of $1000.00. She went down to a D cup. She is happy and said that she would do it over again...though I must admit that she was in quite a bit of pain for about 2 weeks after the surgery.

The fee is usually between 5,000 and 7,000.

Is it worth it? She definitely thinks so and does not have back pain anymore.

Are you a candidate? You would need to see a plastic surgeon to check that out. Your first consultation visit with a plastic surgeon is free. They would look at you and advise you on if the surgery is for you. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHOOSE A BOARD CERTIFIED SURGEON ONLY!

You can find a board certified surgeon in your area by checking one of the following sites:

https://www.abms.org/WC/PreRegister.aspx
http://www.surgery.org/public/find_a_sur...

If you have back pain you could have the reduction covered by insurance.

I've seen girls with D cups go in for reductions, so don't worry!

I got mine reduced Feb 2006 and don't regret it one bit!
