Question on tampon insertion?!
Question: my friend has had her period for about 2 years, she's 13, and a virgin. she says she follows the instructions on the tampon box but can never get it in because its painful. she's getting really fusterated, and starting to cry. I dont know wht advice to give her or how to help her since when i started using them, i had no troubles..why cant she get them in?

Some people are just really small, and won't get any bigger until they are a few years older. Also, she might not have the right size of tampons. The best ones to use for beginners are Tampax Pearl Lites. Tampons with plastic applicators are easier to use than ones with cardboard applicators. If she is still having trouble, then she could put some personal lubrication (K-Y jelly) of the end of the applicator, and that should help. Good luck! ;P

she cant be sitting down and she has to be relaxed lossen mussles and tell her to use a mirror to help her
she might just not be on the right angle. or she could be hitting her hymen (the thin flap of skin) keep trying she'll get it! or tell her to talk to her mother.
IT TOOK ME AWHILE EVEN AFTER READING THE INSTRUCTIONS. BUT U INSERT IT FURTHER BACK THEN I THOUGHT, MORE TOWARDS THE BUTT
could be alot of different things
tell her to ask her mum be best person to give her answers
tell her to use pads and it is not worth crying over...?
I know what she's going through. This happened to me yesterday. I just kept trying different angles and it finally went in. It felt like it was going in my butt lol.
maybe she's really tensed up. when she puts them in, she has to RELAX.
also, make sure she puts them in at an angle (like 45 degrees)
i don't know what else to say, but that it is kinda hard when you are first starting
put it in for her
