Answers: is today and i'm kinda scared. someone please tell me what its like.

It's okay to be scared. I'm nervous EVERY TIME I go and I've been going for years!

First off, remember that they are a doctor. Man or woman, they are not looking at you in a sexual way, and there is no need to be nervous. What they are doing is all to make sure that you are healthy. Most gynecologists will tell you exactly what they are doing before they do it, mine does and it puts me at ease.

Also, you are going to be a little sore afterwards. You may even bleed a little. This is normal, they have to scrape cells in order to obtain a pap smear, and sometimes that kind of hurts.

And don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about anything, including sex. Even if you are young, your doctor cannot talk to your parents about what you tell him.

just relax...find a focal point.

if they know what they are doing and know it's your first time, its painless and they are very kind.

you have nothing to fear, except them looking up in your stuff. And after a few times at it....you don't pay any attention to it any more.

It isn't pleasant, but it won't be too terrible. Your doctor has done thousands of these exams and knows what they are doing. The very best thing you can do to make the experience go well is to just relax and not tense up. I usually find something in the room to look at, like a ceiling tile that has weird shapes on it, or a picture, and try to focus on that. Most doctors also tell you what they are doing too, so there won't be any surprises. And it will be amazingly quick. Much quicker than you are imagining.

I gave you a link below to a great article about how the visit will go.

Good luck and welcome to the club ; )

There is nothing to be scary when you goes first time. Just like when you goes your primary doctor, but little difference. They'll exam your vagina. There is nothing to embarrass. Just make sure everything is normal.

they just want to check you out
