Can stress cause your periods to be lighter?!

Question: I have had two deaths in my family in the last two months. Paying for college with two unemployed parents and my father is extremely sick. Trying to get good grades and I am on probation. I have been under so much stress in the past two weeks its unimaginable. Could this cause my period to be lighter?

Stress can definitely have an influence on your hormones, which in turn can change the regularity and flow of your period.

Also, I'm really sorry you're going through so much right now, but hang in there, try to remain strong for yourself and your future. People like you, who strive to reach their goals despite adversaries are the greatest. You should be very proud of yourself. Hang in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

NO IDEA!!

but check my question, it's interesting and i really want to kow what people think? thank you!

Yes it can, and it can make you not even have a period..

Yes it can. I've stopped my periods completely because of stress before. I hope you feel better soon, love.

usually stress makes periods heavier, however we as women have such different bodily ways.... You could be under stress and get lighter periods, it all depends on your body, I wish I had a more detailed answer for ya, but this is all I could think of.. and remember from my own personal ..

stress can cause all kinds of havok to your body...and yes even periods...u can even miss them when highly stressed...good luck!

Stress can cause several things to happen to your period. It can make it lighter, heavier, possibly even miss your period. When your bodies balance gets upset it can mess with you several ways.

Regulation of menstrual periods is controlled by a complex hormonal balance. Likewise, the body's reaction to stress involves changes in the levels of many hormones. Because it affects hormone balance and many other processes in the body, psychological stress can also interfere with the menstrual cycle. In fact, stress is considered to be a common cause of missed or late menstrual periods.

perhaps not. see a doc and ask for some sort of vitamin supplements. you need strangth. perhaps somethings you eat ?? sour food can cause it to be lighter..pls take a time and see a doc

no wonder!! because it all depends on your metabolism and body clock! not only that it can cause your period to be lighter but youll have diffulty getting pregnant, unless your boyfriend is extremely lucky! and if so your baby weight is at max 6 lbs. 6.5 at the most!

stress is a big part of the female body, unfortunately it throws all our systems out all over the place.
