Tri Cyclen Lo Birth Control Pill?!

Question: I have some questions about this pill - since this is a low dosage pill does that mean it is less effective in preventing pregnancy?

Also, if i wanted to skip a period anytime, can i skip the 'sugar pills' with the tricyclen lo?

Another thing - my doctor said i could start ANY day, and recommended this sunday, or any other sunday. BUT on the website it says i should start on the SUnday AFTER my period. Which is right???

No it is NOT any less effective in preventing pregnancy. But it is more important with the lower dose pills to try and take them at the same time everyday and NOT skip any pills.
With tri cyclen DO NOT skip the sugar pills to miss a period. You will spot the whole time anyway. You can only do this with mono-phasic hormones (pills with just one level of hormone, not like the tri-cyclen has).
If you arent having sex you can start them any time. If you are and this is for birth control, just for peace of mind, i would start the sunday after your period. But still use other protection for one full cycle.

i use that pill and it works the same as far as preventing pregnancy goes. that's why it's called "birth control". if it didn't work, they wouldn't market it. skipping periods is more of something you should talk to your doctor about. i started mine on the monday after my period and it's worked just fine for me and i've been on since august.

It is effective. Your doctor means since you're not on your period, you can start it anytime. Do it, before your period catches up tp ya! LOL

yikes!!! is it less effective cuz name has lo in it?!?!? please dont reproduce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... call your doctor and have them RE-explain b.c. pill concept and procedures to you as you obviously didnt listen the first time.
