I prefer pads personally, but I've tried tampons. They don't hurt, just feel a little weird at first. Not hard at all to put in/out.

My advice - Go to wal-mart, and find a varity pack filled with different sizes. Depending on how you're built, you might need a bigger or smaller tampon. And I suggest getting a knock-off brand your first time so you don't waste a lot of money if you end up not liking them.

Also don't forget to wear a panty liner just in case.

Once you get the hang of it, they are much better than pads...

Tampons are great! They can be easy to use but you should use a pad or a liner the last day or 2 because the flow is so much lighter and they can be a little painful to take out then.

I'm still using pads, but my friend said that the tampons is much better and not painful at all.

I find tampons much more comfortable and "clean" than pads. It cuts down on odor, too!

God yes! The inventor is the tampon was a genius!

I had no idea how old you are, but it might hurt a bit more if you're a virgin.

The good ones are really easy to remove. You can also get smaller ones that are covered in silk. Carefree and Stayfree are good. Not Libra. Bad! It felt like I was having a baby!

I didn't care for tampons, but my daughter loves them to death.

errrm, its not that hard to switch. Just read the tampon pack, and your set. It can be uncomfortable the first time, but only because your body is not used to having a cotton plug shoved up your vaginal passage. lol.
Its not at all scary, and is alot more convenient then a bulky pad.
Whatever suits you really.
take care, xo.

Less mess, less smell... I prefer them myself. They aren't that hard to use or remove. Not typically painful, but make sure you're using one that is appropriate for your flow. Good luck.

tampons are much more comfortable and they don't hurt, if it hurts it's because it's not inserted correctly. First time may be less easy to insert, but with an applicator it shouldn't be a problem.
You may want to look into organic made tampons (and pads) since they don't contain toxic chemicals

If you insert a tampon correctly, you will not feel it at all. So, yes they are more comfortable. Sometimes, pads feel like diapers. They are bulky, stick to your butt cheeks, and get really stinky. They shift as you move. You won't have to deal with any of these problems with a tampon.

there good i like using pads though tampons are good for swimming cause there warn inside you it all depends on you if there comfortable or not

Tampons are more comfortable, easier, and cleaner.
Easy to use, don't hurt if put in correctly.....and when removing..DO NOT tense up or it will hurt because the vaginal muscles are holding it in place like vice grips.

tapmax pearl was eazy when i firs switched becuz it was a smooth applicator and easy guide.

the reason i switch is the first day or 8th grade i had another period and the pad shifted and didnt hold all the blood.

so i started tampons.

believe me the help.

good luck hun.

I dont like tampons at all. I think they are uncomfortable. They arent painful though. But I think they are hard to put in. Easy to take out though.

i prefer tampons they work much better than pads pads feel like wearing a diaper. and they help control the smell as well but use non sented cause the scented can cause yeast infections

I think they're much more comfortable then pads! But everyone is different...
It does take a little while to get used to it though.

But they are easy to insert & remove, and not painful at all.

yeah, i think so, cause the pads are really fiddly and sometimes they stop sticking :/
if you put it in right, you won't be able to feel it. it's feels a bit strange putting it in the first time but you get used to it :p

i havent tried tampons but i do like pads......i dont think tampons would b 2 comfurtable 4 me.....but if u try it out tell me if u like it bettr or not...i would try it

once you figure it out (its not hard at all just read the back of the box) its is like a million times better!! you have to change it as often as you do a pad and it feels sooooo much better to be dry!! i hated them when i first got my period but i was forced to use them because i did gymnastics. i'm glad i started using them becuause they are sooooo much better than pads. pads are too messy and gross!

hope i helped!!

What they all said , I use both ( back up ) .
