Menstrual crampling with no bleeding?!

Question: I have been having menstrual like cramps for two weeks now, with no bleeding. It is due time for my period. I have had heavy and very painful periods for the past several years, and the only explanation that I get from my Gyno is that I need to take birth control, which makes me horribly sick, and ibuprofen. They never really check to see what's wrong!! (I am in my early 20's and have been to several Ob-GYn's to try to figure this out). Does anyone know what could be causing this? Cysts? Pregnancy? Cancer (God forbid)?

Pregnancy for sure. That was my first BIG sign of being pregnant. I kept having terrible period cramps but wasn't bleeding. Get a test and if thats not the problem go see a new gyno and tell them whats up. Make them take you seriously. You could also have endometriosis. You need to have them check for that. The reason I say that is because of the really bad periods. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Get you're thyroid checked. It's just a blood test.

You need to put your foot down and demand tests from your OBGYN. Don't let them brush you off like that, it's your body and you have every right to ask for tests.

Having cramps for two weeks straight isn't normal.

Good luck!

It could be pregnancy or it could be from the birth controll pills you have had in the past. They mess with your hormones and it can sometimes take up to a year to flush out from your body and for your periods to return to normal.

There are different type of birth control pills. There are some that actually are designed for bad cramps. Ask your doctor about them, or research them online.

The same thing happened to me for the past two weeks. Sounds crazy but stick a qtip there and you should start i did that because it just seemed as if somthing was restricting the blood flow. Being that I wasnt active for a year im guessing that was it. It came right out(i know it sounds gross)

I often get bad cramping when I am ovulating, so consider that. If you still dont get your period it a few days visit the doctor to rule out any STDs, pregnancy or any other problems.

I have this same problem, and my dr. said the same thing. I don't want to be on the pill, so I have just tried drinking more milk and other things rich in calcium.
My cycle isn't back to normal yet, but it's certainly improved!
Hope this helped!

Maybe you are pregnant. I have the same problem & I'm not pregnant & I am on birth conrtol. My Dr prescribed me ibprofen. I have recieved no explaintion either I just take the Ibprofen when the cramps come

Are your constant or only two weeks out of the month or something like that? Please add to details. This will help everyone in answering.

Qutie possibly a change in diet can help. There is quite a bit of hollistic medicine related to this. Cysts are very likely, but without knowing the complete history, I do suggest that if you have not had a complete examine (possibly an mri or biopsy) you consider it.
