Have to have a pelvic ultrasound?!

Question: OK, I have a few questions because Im scared!
Basically, the doctor wants me to have it because I had a blood test and my LH level was high.
I was on the pill when the blood test was taken, would that have affected the results? The dcotor didnt mention the pill at all, I'm abit worried he forgot I was on it..?
So, what do you think he wants to do the ultrasound for?
He said something about high LH being sometimes associated with cysts on the ovaries, whats the chances of this?
Will they do the ultrasound from inside or outside?
Does it hurt?
How long will I have to wait for an appointment (In the UK)
Will I get germs from going to the hospital to make the appointment?
Aaaah. Please help!

I've had 2 pelvic ultrasounds recently, and am scheduled for a third because they are looking to see if the cyst on my left ovary is shrinking or growing. The initial reason I was scheduled for one was due to extremely heavy periods.

Mine were done in two steps. With your bladder completely full they do the ultrasound from the outside. Then they have you empty your bladder and look from the inside. It is not painful. The only discomfort was having someone press on my abdominal area with the full bladder. But that is really no biggie.

I wouldn't worry about it, they are just trying to identify what is going on.

A pelvic ultrasound does not hurt. The doppler is inside the vagina and is about as large as an average pens in diameter. They will use several diffrent angles and you just lay on your back with your knees bent. It is like going to the gyno and having your feet in the stirrups.
I am in the US and do not know what the waiting times are for you . Hope all is well and I send you my prayers.

Don't worry. Cysts are normal and ultrasounds are a painless. The ultrasound is to check if there are cysts, which are benign. Call your Dr. & ask about the pill.

There is not pain at all in this kind of test. They just bounce sound waves into you, that bounce off of your insides, and gives them a picture of your inside. Nothing to worry about having the test.
