Period help.....?!

Question: Hey, I was just concerned about a way I could make my period start? I gave birth to my daughter in June '07. Two mths after having her I had periods. I haven't had one since. I was wanting to know if I can get it to start somehow. I was diagnosed with PCOS in '05 and I know that can contribute to my amenorrhea. Please don't say to see a doctor because I have no insurance and no money right now to be able to pay for it. I am looking for options that I can find to do without having to see a doctor. Please read my question thoroughly and don't say to see a doc...that's not an option. Thank you Any help you can provide for me will be greatly appreciated. Need any more info just ask.

Okay... I would say to just be patient with the whole process because you may not see your period for a while but if you really want the information I found below might help... Good Luck...

For women who want to see if an herb can help get their period started, they could start with parsley. That is a very mild herb, and is actually pretty good for health. Plus, it has worked really well for many people in the past, and the flavor is not bad. It is a bit green, and a tad spicy, over-all it is fairly tasty. I know many people do not mind it at all. Drinking 3 or 4 cups a day to see if you can coax your period on should be fine. Most women often had it start by the next day, but if your body is not ready and it does not start, just give it a week and give it another try. The point is this herb is high in calcium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, vitamin c, and very high in potassium and vitamin A. There are other mild herbs which can be used safely and effectively as well to relieve problem of delayed menstruation. Another tea to consider can be with ginger..

"It's common for your period to be delayed after pregnancy," says Mary Jane Minkin, M.D., clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. "For some women, menstruation starts up right away. For others, it can take years. I tell my patients to wait it out during breastfeeding plus six months." Nevertheless, if you're concerned, see your doctor, who can discuss the possibility of using a hormonal medication to jump-start menstruation.

You could try starting the pill. I havent had any children yet and I would skip months and I wasent sure why. You can go to Planned parenthood and its only 10-20 dollars if you dont have insurence.

I'm sorry to say, as far as I know, there isn't any way to get your period to start without a doctor's help. If you're overweight, losing weight can help. Whether you're overweight or not, regular exercise can also help some, but that's not guaranteed to help either. You might consider looking into a free clinic, or getting government assistance in obtaining insurance. PCOS is a condition that really needs to be monitored by a doctor.
