How can I not worry about pregnancy when on the pill?!

Question: I've only been married and having sex for a few weeks. I have been taking the pill for a few months now in preparation. I'm constantly worried that any weird pain, headache, stomach ache, etc. is a sign of pregnancy. Do I really need to worry that much? What is a good way to calm myself and not worry so much that I may be pregnant all the time. The pill is the only form of birth control that we are currently using.

It's very rare for a woman to get pregnant while taking bc pills properly. I wouldn't give it another thought. Occasionally a woman can get pregnant with the pill, but that's rare. So, I wouldn't worry. The only sign you need worry about is if you don't have your period, and even that can be a sign of your hormones are adjusting to the pill. It sounds like you got it covered. However if you want to go further to ease your mind, use a spermicidal that you put into your vagina. That'll kill any trouble makers.

DO NOT WORRY BE HAPPY AND ENJOY YOUR SEX LIFE.

You just learn to get over it. The more often you get your period the more you learn to relax and just understand that while the pill is GOOD, NOTHING is PERFECT.

These are the facts:
- If taken EXACTLY as you're supposed to, the pill is between 95 and 98% effective. Its all in how YOU use it. If you're FANATICAL about taking the pill EXACTLY on time each and every day, and using backup contraception in ANY case of doubt, then your chances of avoiding pregnancy greatly increase.
- If you practice making a baby (i.e., have sex), you are almost guaranteed to eventually succeed.
- If you're married, then you really need to discuss these problems and concerns with your husband. While an unplanned pregnancy can be a strain, it shouldn't ruin your life.

I've been using contraception for over 25 years. In that time I've used mostly hormonal methods. I've had ONE planned pregnancy and ZERO pregnancy scares.
As I said, IT'S ALL IN HOW YOU USE IT. I was nearly religious in taking the pill, and I never had a problem. It's all up to you.

dont worry ... if you miss a period then worry .. as long as you are on the pill and you dont miss a day you should be fine

Even taking pills exactly as prescribed you are ONLY 98% protected, which means you still can get pregnant.

Don't worry so much! You'll make yourself sick.
