Question: I have a question!

Can i skip the sugar pills (7) alltogether to skip my period if there is an occasion where i might need to with the Tri Cyclen Lo pills?

if so, i can just take week 1, 2, and 3 and not take the sugar pills and start on week 1 again??

NO! Not with tri-cycled pills, only mono cycle. Tri-cyclen as you probably know has a different horomone each week, this will cause your period to come no matter what. You can only skip your period with pills if they are monocycled and have the same horomones all month.

Talk to your doctor about this, you will just get your period anyway and waste a week of active pills.

Switch to a monocycle pill if you want to do this.

yes you can. but keep in mind that you'll have to get the next pack one week earlier and your insurance might not kick in at that time yet (you can only buy a pack once a month) so you might end up paying the full price ($30 for generic more for the brand) but check with your pharmacy

good luck!

no u shouldn't start a new pack right after week 3. It's not healthy! ur body's hormones become all imbalanced, if it was safe the instructions would say so. But u can skip taking the sugar pills if u want, as long as u dont start a new pack when u should be taking them, they dont contain anything, their just there 2 keep u in the habit of taking them everyday.

I've heard that you can't skip periods with tricyclen the way you can with other pills. You should call your doctor's office and ask whether you can do that or not.

you can do that with orth-tri-cycline....don't see why not with yours.

yes, you certainly can and women have been doing this sort of thing for YEARS.
Just be sure not to do it for longer than 3 cycles in a row. Your body needs to have a cycle at some point.
Also, your insurance company MIGHT give you crap for refilling early, some do

But yes, take week 1, 2, 3, then 1, 2, 3 ect NO BREAK IN BETWEEN WEEK 3 and WEEK 1

=)

i've asked my dr this- its perfectly fine to do as long as it doesn't become a habit- your body needs the time to go through its natural cycles- but if your going on vacation or doing something special one month- it doesn't do any harm :)
ive done it maybe 6 times (approx once a year and have never had any problems)

No, do not piggyback tri-phasic pills. The first weeks dosage is to strong, unless you first use the inactive pills. You can do this with mono-phasic pills only. Seasonique and Seasonale are made for this. Each pack comes with 91 pills, 84 active pills and 7 inactive pills. With these pills you have only 4 periods per year.

Sure, I used to do it, and my step mom does it every summer so she never has to worry about being in a bathing suit w/ her period. My doc even said it was fine- remember those commercials for the birth control that only gives u a period a few times a year? Same thing, u just keep taking them constantly. Just keep in mind, you'll go through more pills, and u may get some spotting or light bleeding anyway.

Get approval from your DOCTOR before you do this. There are usually side affects when you want to go against what a prescription says. You may not even skip your period that week.
