Does the pill cause sterility or abortions?!
Question: My friends keeps telling me it does and that it's a really bad sin to take the pill. She says I'll have to answer to God about it. She also doesn't understand why I support abortion after being sexually abused. What can I do to get her off my back about it?

oh wow i have never heard anything like that before, the pill has nothing to do with sterility. i guess you can say the pill makes you "temporarily steril" but then again people have gotten pregnant while on the pill.

The pill stops a woman's ovaries releasing eggs, they thicken vaginal fluid so that sperm cannot get to the womb and they also change the lining of the womb so that the eggs are unable to grow there. It is not a bad sin or can cause any problems to you if you decide to have children in the future. Your freind is being very stupid in telling you this. She needs to talk to some one who can but her stright.
I suggest you find a new friend.
She sounds like a fairly religious, and if your views are not the same you'll likely be headed for more conflict.
Or, you could just let her stay on your back.
