well I'm 20 and a virgin too, and I can't use that size either, I think it's just too big and pulls onto my hymen too much.
I advise you to use the regular absorbency instead as it's thinner and then you just have to change your tampon more often. As your flow is average that should be enough.

And if you're just starting to use tampons at all, you can get some special teen ones that are even thinner but absorb as much as the regular ones, until you've got more experience.

just keep practicing with the tampons, you'll get the hang of it

u probably didnt need a super....try using a lighter absorbancy....u would probably do better with a regular absorbancy....try that...hope it helps

You shouldn't be able to feel it. One silly thing I did the first time I used them was that I didn't know you were supposed to push the middle part up out of the plastic with the bottom part of the contraption. That didn't make sense to me. But it was definitely not comfortable and I figured out what I was doing wrong. Read the directions again to make sure you have it right.

I think you used one that was too big.

you might have to push it in a little further. it also takes a lil while to get used to. after that, you don't even notice it, that's when you should be more careful though, cause you can forget more easily that you aren't wearing one

i can realte hon---i never used tampons till i was in my 30s and long past virginity---it still was very uncomfortable and pads gave me bad rashes---it really sucked---maybe u could talk to the school nurse or ur family dr or his nurse---not sure what to tell u but i definitely synpathize---good luck hon

If you have average flow, you should be using regular absorbancy at the most. Also, you most likely didn't get it in far enough. I've found that Playtex tampons with the plastic applicator tend to be shorter than the Tampax tampons, and are a little easier to get in all the way.

Like the other people said, start with a regular absorbency, and if your flow is really heavy switch to super.

Also, a good thing to keep in mind is to relax. Relax your mind, and your muscles. If you are tense your muscles will tighten up and it will hurt to get the tampon in - your muscles will be pushing against it.

Take a few deep breaths, and get into a comfortable position.

It took me a while to get the hang of it too. ;)

Don't give up! When I first starting using tampons (at age 14!) I went through half a box before I got it right!

I would start with a lighter tampon - just the smallest that you can. When you get better at it then move up to the size you need.

As for the problem you're having now, it sounds to me like you just haven't pushed the tampon in far enough. There's really now way to explain how to get this right, just keep trying!

ugh! the heck we go through being women! lol. don't worry i'm 14 and had the same problem last year. the first couple of monthes you'll be really uncomfortable, but after a while your body will get used to it and they won't hurt at all. try using playtex sport for now, they are the least painful!

Dont worry im 25 and ive never worn a tampon cause i just simply think there uncomfortable. my sister doesnt either.
