My girlfriend has small breasts and she goes on about them all the time, but I dont really care cos I love her all the same, but I think its also a confidence thing, some people find that if someone has something better, or in this case bigger than them, they need whatever that person has.

Unless you are recovering from breast cancer or something where your breast is reconstructed - boob jobs are purely vanity. It's all about how you want to look. How is it not? :-)

I don't think so. I am concerned though that those actions could involve health risks. I feel like if there are health risks and the person does it anyway, then maybe there is vanity involved. It is saying "I am risking my being there 100% for others over how I feel about my bust size," which seems selfish; which in turn leads to a charge of possible vanity to blame. IDK.

Yes, I do. I have rather small breast and I never felt the urge to do such an extreme thing to improve them. I feel perfectly comfortable with my body, and me and my boyfriend talk openly about such matters (so I know he doesn't have any problem with them either).. I think it's just a matter of confidence and of you believing in your sex appeal.. Your attitude is what makes you attractive.
I had a reduction years ago, not out of vanity but because my breasts were too big for my frame I developed a curve at the top of my spine. So No an augmentation is not purely for vanity.
It has no medical function so the answer has to be yes. Vanity might be an extreme word however as women do become depressed and unhappy with their own self image.
i think it depeneds. if the person is getting smaller it can be for heath reasons.
