I was on Depo for 7 years and then switched to the patch. You change it once a week and it is very low fuss and muss. I had no problems with it and it is much easier on your body than the Depo. Each woman is different and your lifestyle can really dictate what works for you.

Here is a link to the patch if you want to research it:

Good luck!

i'm on the ring now and really like it

i hated the injection because it made me bleed for a year afterwards.it can also stop you being fertile for 18 months afterwards.
perhaps you could try an implant which contains the same hormones as the pill but lasts for 3 or more years.it goes in the top of your arm and is the same size a little hair grip.

I've heard a lot of negative things about Depo; I have been on Ortho-Tricyclin Low(Not sure about my spelling) before & it's great & good for your skin.
I'm currently on Loestrin 24 because I'm in my 30's now & it's been working out great for me. I don't get a period each month, which doesn't bother me if I don't ever have a period. When I do get a period, it's usually light spotting for a day & I'm done.
I would talk to your doctor & see if he/she has any suggestions.

i was on depo for two years and then decided to get off of it (even though i really liked it) b/c of the unknown infertility affects. i switched to the bc pill yasmin. i know you said you didn't want to take a pill but i chose to do that after doing all the research on every single kind of birth control out there. it may suck by having to remember to take it daily, but it is definately the healthiest.

I got off of depo because it was horrible to me.

I went immediately to Kariva (pill) and am side affect free.
