I think I have cervix cancer (please help)?!

Question: I'm like crying right now. I'm going to the doctor soon because I think I have herpes which is very upsetting because I've only had 2 sex partners in my life.

For some reason when I try to pee, it wont come out, and it really hurts. Someone please tell me whats wrong with me, my doctor appointment is in 2 hours andI cant wait til then. Do I have cancer or something? My vagina really hurts, I'm in tears and I took a shower to see if it would help me pee but it only hurt my sores. HELP

First, try to take a deep breath and relax a little. It is not going to help you pee to be all tensed up. On that front, it sounds like you might have a kidney stone and it could be blocking somewhere in your urinary track. Usually they can treat those pretty simply so don't get freaked out about that possibility. Or it could be a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) like the other poster mentioned. These are usually treated with antibiotics, so no big deal there, but do remember antibiotics will make The Pill ineffective. I've not ever heard of Herpes preventing you from peeing. It probably would burn the sores, but not prevent urination. My best friend has Herpes (she caught it from her ex-husband). She had sores in her vagina that caused her some pain, but again, never interferred with her peeing.

I am not a doctor, so PLEASE take what I say as advice, not engraved in stone. :) However, it doesn't really sound to me like you have cancer. I was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells in my cervix when they did a pap smear. I had not had any symptoms or any clue that something was wrong. From what I understand, there really aren't symptoms from it which is why so many women go untreated.

It sounds more to me like the two possibilities aleady mentioned. And don't freak out about either of those possibilities. Neither are terminal, although Herpes isn't curable. It would require more responsibility on your part to prevent it being spread, and there will be times when you have flare ups that it won't be too pleasant, but there are medicines to help with that and you can get through it.

Hope all that helps, and remember, you're taking the best first step you can by going to the doctor and not ignoring the problem. Good luck, honey!

it sounds like you have a uti, it will be ok, i dont think you have cancer it is normal for females to get a uti, but also check to see if you have contracted something like herpes, a uti feels like you have to go to the bathroom all the time and hurts really bad when you try to go

dont cry, it sounds like a urinary tract infection! listen to KARA, (above me.) it will be okay. they can be treated easily!

woah hold on, you might just have a yeast infection. Also, there are many variant strains of HPV and only a handful of them can but definitely not always cause cervical cancer.
Even if the worst comes and you do have cervical cancer, the survival rates are very good and at least you would know about it and be proactive in curing it. good luck and i think everything will be ok with you.x

If you have sores, you are likely to have an STD. Cervical cancer is linked to genital warts, not herpes. Make sure you get to that appointment!!!

A UTI causes painful urination. You might have herpes if you have sores around your vagina, but you could have a UTI as well. You are very unlikely to have cervical cancer. You need to go to the doctor's and get evaluated. Get checked for a UTI, get screened for herpes and all other STDs as well.

First of all, herpes doesn't have anything to do with cervix cancer. Secondly, cervix cancer is pretty rare and doesn't cause those symptoms at all. You do not have cancer.

It really, really sounds like you have a bladder or urinary tract infection. Those can make you feel like you need to pee even when you don't. The only thing that doesn't match up is you say you have sores on your vagina. A UTI doesn't cause sores like that. In fact, while a UTI is very uncomfortable and painful, it doesn't usually cause a sore external vagina at all.

It is possible that you are having an initial herpes outbreak, and those can cause UTI like symptoms when the herpes sores are in your urethra. After my husband gave me herpes, I had trouble with my bladder for months. I was constantly having symptoms of a UTI, but whenever I went to the doctor, they did urine cultures and found no bacteria, but elevated white blood cells. Since there was no bacteria, they said I didn't have a bladder infection and they couldn't help me.

I did however have elevated white blood cells which means something was infected. It turned out it was herpes that was causing me to feel like I was having trouble peeing.

It is best that you are seeing a doctor because they can figure out what is wrong with you. Herpes sores and bladder infections are pretty easy from them to recognize and diagnose. In fact, bladder infections are the number one reason women go to the doctors!

In the meantime, all you can do is drink plenty of fluids and don't fight it when you feel like you need to pee. Just keep trying. A warm bath can be soothing.
